We Draw the Lines

Every ten years, after the Federal Census, California has to redraw it’s legislative and Board of Equalization districts. This year, thanks to the passage of Prop 11 of 2008, it will be done by ordinary citizens.

The job is to draw the districts along reasonable population boundaries to create appropriate districts, and to avoid creating district lines that look like a bolted horse drug a fat cowboy willynilly over then map, like Sierra County’s districts do.

The job pays well; in times like these a lot of people will apply.
