Sandhill Crane, by Jean Myles
Here's another ... right place, right time, right subject ... in almost the same place as the ducks, in the early spring right after a nasty storm. A friend drove into the valley the next day to catch a photo, and found that the Sandhill Crane had abandoned the nest. She had, apparently, made the nest before the water got so deep. I love the fact that she had thrown grasses over her back in an attempt to camoflage herself and the nest. ... This was about three Springs ago ...

David Keyes took this beautiful photo June 18th up at Sardine Lake, while fishing. He said, "I think I was more excited about seeing this eagle than catching fish."
