PR 2 Loyalton Sidewalk
Sierra County Transportation Commission and the City of Loyalton, in conjunction with the County Department of Transportation, announce that construction on the 4th Street sidewalk project, on the west side of 4th Street from Highway 49 to the High School, will commence on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. This project has been in the planning stages for a year and a construction contract has now been awarded to Granite Construction Company.
This transportation enhancement project is funded with Federal funds from the American Recovery and Rehabilitation Act of 2009. This project for the City of Loyalton is being conducted by the Sierra County Department of Transportation, and includes installation of 1,121 feet of sidewalk including curb and gutter, handicap accessible curb ramps, driveway aprons and painted crosswalks.
Motorists, pedestrians, and local residents are encouraged to recognize that traffic will be impeded during construction, however detours will be available.
