PR3 New Rev in the Hood
The North Gold Circuit United Methodist Church (Downieville, North San Juan and Sierra City Congregations) announce that a new pastor has been appointed to the circuit. Reverend Norma Jean Powell and her husband, Bill come to us from Aldersgate United Methodist Church in San Rafael. Reverend Powell has also served in Chester, California and Anderson, California.
July 4, 2010 will be Reverend Powell’s first Sunday as pastor. Due to the Independence Day Celebration, Sierra City worship will be with Downieville at 10:30 a.m. (in Downieville). There will be no service in Sierra City that day.
Everyone (parishioners, neighbors, curious, hungry and so forth) is invited to come meet the new parsonage family on Tuesday evening, July 6, 2010 at Hill’s Place on Wild Plum Road in Sierra City, 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Please let Miriam know if you will attend for planning/shopping purposes.
