Come to Sierra County
This week: the Southern end of the Sierra Valley; Sattley, Sierraville, and Loyalton.
Coming down the hill from the Yuba Pass we enter the "Turner Canyon" neck of the Valley. The little town of Sattley is there.
Don't turn left on Highway 89, go past the old teepee burner at the mill and bear right.
All at once, you're on the valley floor.
This spot is beautiful all year round.
East of Sierraville, looking north.
Plumas county and Highway 70 north across the Valley.
Nearing Loyalton. This is the dry end of the Valley, in the rain shadow of the Sierras.
