The California Democratic Party endorsed Christina Billeci for State Assembly at its recent annual convention in Los Angeles . Billeci is a candidate in the June 8th primary election for the 3
rd District seat, which represents all of Nevada , Yuba, Butte, Sierra, Plumas and Lassen counties, and part of Placer County.
Currently vice mayor of Marysville, Billeci is serving her third term on the Marysville City Council. She
retired as Yuba County Public Guardian in June 2009 after 31 years of service in that county office.
Billeci has been active in local and regional politics since 1989. She received a Gold Resolution from the Yuba County Board of Supervisors for service "above and beyond the call of duty" during the great flood of 1986. She founded and served as chair of the Yuba County Senior Action Team which was formed to address the needs of at risk seniors, dependent adults, and elder abuse cases
.
During her tenure on the Marysville City Council
, she has increased services for homeless veterans, expanded the SNAC Nutrition program for seniors and expanded health care for children in Yuba County. She was a member of the Downtown Steering Committee
which developed the Downtown Marysville
Economic Development Strategic Plan. She has been a strong supporter of the Youth Build Program in Marysville, and received the "Outstanding Partner Award" for 2001-2007 from the Yuba County Office of Education

Billeci currently serves on the Sacramento Area Council of Governments
(SACOG), the Board of the Local Government Commission
, and represents the City of Marysville
on the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce.
